Fun of Strokes - Forest

Searching algorithms for a new learning and assessment model, I am wondering through literature and books for last a few days. It reminds me how boring many of the statistical textbooks were when I was a student. Even worse, most of people taught my statistics could only recite the book. Consequently, among all branches of mathematics that I had exposed to, statistics and its alike became subjects that I am least interested.

My new model definitely needs new theory and algorithms. My hope is to get some hints how I can approach my task here. While there is no light on my endeavor in math yet, taking a few minutes break by scratching in Photoshop is much more fun :)

It is quite enjoyable to see that random strokes turn into a pleasant drawing simply because of the basic nature of random distributions.

One friend suggested if this drawing can be viewed as an example of the chaos theory that there are patterns and orders among seemly completely chaotic objects.

After checking some layman's definition of chaos theory, I think that traditional dynamic system is probably more suitable here. The chaos theory has a critical characteristic of unpredictability towards to small turbulence in initial conditions. This drawing actually responded well under our initial conditions: density, line angels, stroke size and moving patterns of drawing. I could draw another 10 such pictures under the same factors that I keep in mind when stroking over the screen and I know all of them will have very similar styles :))
