盛夏午后

这是对七、八十年代成都附近小城镇盛夏午后的印像。成都市内那时也有很多这样的铺板小街，但少有这样清静、空旷。盛夏的成都，虽然比不上重庆、武汉，却也常常有摄氏35、36度的高温。最难受的，还是盆地郁闷无风的炎热潮湿。夏天里，坐在那里一动不动，也会汗流浃背。

夏天的午后，是“国睡”午眠的时候，在外面的人是少了又少。这时候在这样一条老街上走一走，感觉和平时会很不一样。烈日下，平时的熙熙攘攘喧哗嘻闹都不见了，空旷中甚至能感到空气中传来的偶尔回声。强光照得四下里白花花一片。阳光从地上反射起来也会让人难以睁眼。印像中，就只留下无色但强烈的对比。色彩在炎热疲乏的眼里，已经被忽视，从记忆中自然消失。

Summer Noon Time

This drawing depicts hot summers in small towns around Chengdu during in the 70’s and early 80’s.

Chengdu is extremely hot and humid during the summer. Many times, even sitting still in the shadow without doing anything, you may still be sweating constantly.

People take two hours nap every after lunch. Life stops and everything remains still. Storng sunlight reflections bouncing back from the ground can still blind your eight sights. My memory of such time around is mostly colorless with sharp and bold contrast.
